What ALVARO SOLER has experienced in the first years of his still young career from 2015 to 2019 can confidently be called a sensation. Straight from the university lecture hall, Soler's songs catapulted the Spanish-German musician into the European and Latin American charts and onto stages all over the world. In just four years, the now 30-year-old, who lived in Tokyo for seven years and speaks six languages, achieved successes for which other artists work for decades: More than 80 gold and platinum awards worldwide, two million albums sold, a total of over 2.5 billion audio streams and 1.5 billion streams for his videos. Plus shows with superstar J-Lo in Las Vegas and Miami, "X Factor" judge in Italy, guest on the award-winning German TV show "Sing meinen Song - das Tauschkonzert" and coach on "The Voice Kids" 2021.
You have to process all that first - and that's exactly why ALVARO SOLER took some time off in 2020. A one-year break from travelling, twelve months to come to rest, 365 days to write new songs. "I was already a bit tired. It was the most beautiful trip of my life and I'm very grateful, but it was also bittersweet, because I hardly had a private life. I wanted to have some time to have other experiences as well. Of course I did smaller projects and there were live shows planned, but then everything turned out differently. The pandemic intensified this time extremely and of course I missed the hustle and bustle a bit again after two months ..."
The idea for the new tour MAGIA came about in response to Soler's fans' urgent requests: "Already in the summer I kept getting messages saying something like: 'This year is so hard, why don't you release something?', which made me realise again that this is the reason why I make music. It was incredible fun to write a song for those very people and even while it was being written I felt like dancing all the time. When a song does that to you, you know there's something right about it," Soler describes the process of creating his new songs. It is consistent that MAGIA is the first single after the sabbatical and that the album, planned for summer 2021, will also be called MAGIA. "I've noticed how often we use the word for things that can't be described in any other way. Not everything needs a thousand words, not everything needs a reason - sometimes the little things overwhelm us. You just feel it."
